As a data entry administrator (Customs Declarant) you'll be reviewing customer documentation to ensure all data sets required are present before commencing customs clearance. This includes, but is not limited to, checking information such as EORI, commodity codes, tariff information, customs procedures, licence requirements and any other formalities applicable to the movement.

You'll be submitting customs declarations to HMRC using the appropriate software. You'll liaise with customers both internally and externally to obtain clearance instructions and information required to complete the customs declaration prior to shipping.

A Data Entry Administrator (Customs Declarant) will solve problems and liaise with the necessary departments to resolve rejected entries. You'll positively engage with your team leaders or supervisors to ensure issues or potential issues are known within the team.

Some Key Responsibilities:

·Checking entries accuracy and calculation of VAT/DUTIES (where required)

·Ensuring compliance of standard operating procedures for Customers and AEO process

·Directly liaise with UK Customs Manager, Supervisors, team leaders and any customs authorities such as HMRC where needed.

·Keep up to date on topics that have an impact on the customs department.

Good to know:

While is role is based in Northampton, there may at times be a requirement to travel to other areas within the UK. This may be once or twice a year
