House Manager - Central London (Hyde Park)
Full-Time | ASAP Start
Salary: £75,000-£85,000+ DOE

An experienced and highly capable House Manager is required for a large six-storey private residence near Hyde Park, with an adjoining mews currently undergoing refurbishment.
This is a hands on, 360-degree role requiring full ownership of the property and its day-to-day operations. The successful candidate will run the home efficiently, systematically and independently, as well as part of a small household team.
The House Manager will need to be adaptable and confident enough to interact with the Principal and guests when required but also know when to take a step back.

The Principal resides abroad for approximately six months of the year, so you must be comfortable taking complete responsibility for the residence alongside the team, in their absence and ensuring everything runs seamlessly at all times.

The Role
Household & Property Management

  • Full responsibility for the daily running of the residence
  • Ensure the home operates in a structured, organised and efficient manner
  • Apply strong common sense and a solid understanding of how a large home should function
  • Proactively manage maintenance, repairs and contractors
  • Oversee refurbishment works and ensure projects remain on schedule
  • Liaise confidently with property managers, suppliers and external specialists
  • Anticipate issues before they arise and resolve them efficiently
  • See all tasks through to completion with accuracy and attention to detail
  • Dog care - the client has 2 golden retrievers who are very much part of the family and will require occasional walking in the nearby garden.

Principal & Guest Interaction

  • Adaptable and comfortable interacting with the Principal when in residence
  • Confidently greet guests and ensure they are welcomed appropriately
  • Able plan and execute any hosting dinners/parties (semi formal or informal), setting tables, ensuring everything is beautifully presented.
  • Able to step forward when needed and step back when appropriate
  • Communicate clearly, professionally and to the point
  • Represent the Principal with discretion, awareness and emotional intelligence

Candidate Profile

  • Proven experience managing high level homes
  • Forward-thinking, proactive and highly aware
  • Strong technical understanding of property systems
  • Able to hit the ground running with minimal instruction
  • Works independently without the need for micro management
  • Systematic, organised and accurate in delivery
  • Reads between the lines and anticipates needs
  • Presentable, calm and confident
  • Team player who blends naturally with others
  • Discreet, trustworthy and adaptable

This is an excellent opportunity for a capable House Manager who takes genuine ownership, runs a home methodically and efficiently, and understands how to balance operational excellence with confident, professional interaction when required.
A competitive salary will be offered in line with experience.
