Westlakes Recruit are currently recruiting for a Senior Mechanical Engineer with a background in Mechanical Handling and ideally experienced in the nuclear or other highly regulated sector to be engaged on a permanent basis in Warrington, Manchester or Derby with hybrid working.
This role will be responsible for the development of equipment solutions and be able to develop products through the entire product lifecycle.
Ideally the successful candidate will have experience of mechanical equipment design and a proven track record of the delivery of complex safety critical equipment. There is an expectation that the candidate can flex and evolve within the role, within the business and the team as it grows.
The successful candidate shall produce engineer solutions and artefacts supported by cross functional integration of all areas of the business required to deliver their scope into the power station delivery model. This includes: demonstrating the validity of the technical solutions developed; the delivery of a robust design and safety justification, supported by detailed mechanical analysis and Design for X assessment; the integration of the solutions into the overall design.
