The Role

This is a senior-level Electrical / Controls Systems position with responsibility across the full machine lifecycle - from concept design through to commissioning.

You will work closely with mechanical design engineers and development teams to deliver robust, compliant and high-performing machine control systems.

Key Responsibilities:

Electrical control system design (schematics, panel layouts, BOMs)
PLC programming (Siemens and/or Allen Bradley)
Motion control and servo integration
HMI system development (PC-based systems advantageous)
Machinery safety system design (EN60204 and relevant standards)
Integration of electrical and mechanical systems
Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) support and commissioning
Provide technical support to service teams and customers when required
Project reporting into the Engineering DirectorThis role would suit someone comfortable working autonomously within an SME-style engineering environment.

Requirements

Essential:

Degree (or equivalent experience) in Electrical, Electronic or Control Engineering
6+ years' experience in industrial automation or special purpose machinery
Strong electrical design capability (Eplan preferred)
PLC programming experience (Siemens or Allen Bradley)
Experience working on bespoke machinery or capital equipment
Understanding of machinery safety standards Desirable:

Motion control / CNC system exposure
Experience with Wonderware, LabVIEW, or PC-based HMI systems
Commissioning experience
Multi-disciplinary project experience Benefits:
