Position Description: 

The Systems Engineer will work as part of a team focused in designing, enhancing, maintaining and our Global Systems infrastructure.  This person will be responsible for running production services and working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure reliability, scalability, and performance.  He/she will also be responsible for assisting and supporting the IT group daily and manage her/his own projects under little supervision.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: (Other duties may be assigned.)

  • Designing, Testing, Implementing and supporting our global complex technical infrastructure, hardware and software components
  • Perform root cause analysis for service interruption recovery; create preventative measures on complex projects
  • Interface with Business Stakeholders on all applicable projects
  • Assist the networking/telecommunication team with projects, tasks and issues
  • Assist the IT Operation team with projects, tasks and issues
  • Assist with the planning, organizing and implementation of new hardware and software
  • Work with vendors for new projects or support issues
  • Some travel required


Education and/or Experience: 

  • High school Diploma required; Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems or related field preferred
  • 5+ years’ experience working as an administrator in a  Microsoft enterprise environment(s) (500+users)
  • 5+ years’ experience working with local area networking and systems concepts including standards, topologies, protocols, and equipment

Minimum Required Expert Technical Skills/Knowledge: 

  • Microsoft Windows Server
  • VMware
  • Active Directory / GPO Management
  • Server and SAN Hardware
  • Networking concepts (TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS) 
  • PowerShell

Any of the following Technical Skills/Knowledge are a plus:

  • IT certifications such as MCSE, MCTS, MCITP, etc.
  • Citrix
  • Office 365 
  • Microsoft SQL
  • ADFS
  • Microsoft FIM / MIM
  • Quest ARS 
  • F5 Load Balancers 
  • Linux 
  • Solarwinds Orion
  • CommVault Simpana 
  • Project Management

Other Abilities and Competencies: 

  • The ability to work autonomously and with a diverse team
  • Ability to work with other teams inside and outside of the IT department
  • Ability to communicate at all levels
  • Ability to present ideas and take charge of projects
  • Ability to listen to what the user is saying and then interpret what he/ she is trying to get across
