The position of Assistant Accountant - Treasury involves overseeing daily financial operations and ensuring accurate handling of cash and bank transactions. This role is based in Lewes and requires a detail-oriented professional with a strong understanding of accounting and finance principles.

Description

As the Assistant Accountant - Treasury, your responsibilities will include:

Management of cash-flow forecast, populating with live information gathered from across the team and reporting weekly on cash position
Support Financial Controller with management of fixed term deposits and review of market rates
Oversight of banking transactions across central and service bank accounts
Responsible for accurate preparation of weekly banking transactions journals
Responsible for review, reconciliation and upload into accounting system of all petty cash
Key role in setting up weekly BACS and Faster Payments
Production of monthly bank reconciliations as part of month end, identifying any reconciling differences
Month-end reporting on status of bank accounts including central, service and client accounts, highlighting cash position and any areas of concern
Month-end reporting on direct debits scheduleProfile

A successful Assistant Accountant - Treasury professional should have:

Proficiency in handling financial transactions and reconciliations.
Strong accounting skills with a keen eye for detail.
Familiarity with cash management systems and software.
The ability to work collaboratively within a team and independently when required.
A proactive approach to identifying and solving financial discrepancies.
