Quality Engineer
Location: West Midlands (Dudley Area)
Salary: £37,000 - £40,000 per annu + Benefits
Hours: 08:30am to 5pm (Mon to Fri)

About the Role
A leading manufacturing company in the West Midlands is seeking an experienced Quality Engineer to join their Safety, Health, Environment & Quality (SHEQ) team. This is a key position supporting the ongoing development and improvement of Quality, Health & Safety, and Environmental Management Systems.

Key Responsibilities

Manage customer quality concerns from initial containment to preventive actions, using 8D methodology.

*

Conduct internal audits for Quality (ISO 9001), Health & Safety (ISO 45001), and Environmental (ISO 14001) systems.

*

Analyse quality data to identify improvement opportunities and trends.

*

Maintain and update Standard Operating Procedures and Control Plans.

*

Monitor supplier quality from goods-in through production; lead corrective actions where necessary.

*

Carry out supplier site audits and maintain performance reports.

*

Work cross-functionally to deliver measurable quality improvements.

Skills & Experience Required
Essential:

*

Strong quality engineering background in manufacturing (steel industry advantageous).

*

Hands-on experience with measuring equipment and inspection processes.

*

Customer-facing experience handling quality concerns, audits, and improvements.

*

In-depth knowledge of ISO 9001 and formal problem-solving techniques (e.g., 8D).

Desirable:

*

Knowledge of SAP Quality Management.

*

Familiarity with multi-metal steel specifications.

*

Experience with ISO 14001 & ISO 45001 auditing.

*

Excellent communication, analytical, and computer skills.
