Mechanical Piping Engineer

A leading organisation is currently seeking an experienced Mechanical Piping Engineer to join our team at our Head Office in Thornton-Cleveleys.

As a Mechanical Piping Engineer, you will play a key role within our Mechanical Engineering team, working closely with colleagues across our multidisciplinary EPCM structure. This includes teams in EC&I, Civil & Structural, Process, and Construction Management.

The position is primarily office-based, with occasional travel to client sites for meetings, surveys, and reviews. You will contribute to a variety of UK-based projects across the onshore process industries, including chemical, petrochemical, pharmaceutical, manufacturing, oil & gas, and food & beverage sectors.

Key Responsibilities: Mechanical Piping Engineer

Develop and review mechanical and piping drawings to relevant industry standards.
Provide engineering support during construction and commissioning phases.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and share technical expertise across departments.
Review client design proposals, specifications, and documentation to assess feasibility and ensure compliance.
Specify system components and recommend modifications to enhance performance.
Lead and participate in client design reviews, incorporating feedback into ongoing design development.
Act as a technical point of contact for clients and maintain strong working relationships.
Coordinate with other engineering disciplines to ensure cohesive project execution.
Prepare scopes of work and associated technical documentation for procurement and installation.
Assist the Mechanical Section Head with resource planning and workload forecasting.
Support business development activities by contributing to cost estimates and project proposals.

Candidate Requirements: Mechanical Piping Engineer

A degree in Mechanical Engineering (preferably from a UK university).
Demonstrable experience in one or more of the following sectors: chemical, petrochemical, oil & gas, pharmaceutical, or food & beverage.
Chartered Engineer status (desirable, but not essential).
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency in Autodesk software, ideally Plant 3D.
Previous experience in a mechanical piping design engineering role.
Willingness to travel to client sites as required
