My client is looking for a Lead Front End Developer to join their team on an initial 3 month basis.

You will hold direct responsibility for working as part of a multidisciplinary team to identify, understand and validate through prototyping, opportunities for new and amended service processes and software components and the mentoring and management of one or more Front End Developers and Digital Apprentices.

The succesful candidate will ensure delivery of a high quality user experience, including fit for purpose software, and high standards of access, availability, usability, usefulness and excellent standards of service.

You will actively contribute to Council-wide and directorate initiatives that will achieve and implement the Mayor’s priorities and corporate objectives and meet the user needs of Hackney’s citizens and businesses.

Finally you will lead the planning and allocation of resources within the Development team while ensuring to inspire creativity and flexibility in the design, management and application of IT.

Key Accountabilities:

* Working with other members of the multidisciplinary prototyping team, specify and design end-to-end digital services, covering, for example: user need, business objectives, scope, constraints (such as performance, resources etc.), evaluation and prioritisation of user stories and identification and mitigation of technical risks

* Take responsibility for the design, coding, testing and documentation of end-to-end digital services to meet user needs.

* Plan, design and conduct tests of programmes; correct errors and re-test to achieve an error-free result.

* Conduct reviews of user stories and code, and take part in reviews of own work and lead reviews of colleagues’ work, ensuring that the work of the team is consistent with the Digital Service Standard.

* Take responsibility for the management of the testing activities within a development project, overseeing the planning of the system and acceptance tests and coordinating the execution of these plans.

* Plan, arrange and lead meetings, workshops and relations with users during test planning and throughout subsequent development and testing activities.

* Take part in evaluations and reviews of programming methods, tools and standards.

* Contribute to the development of appropriate design standards, methods and tools and ensure they are applied effectively and that all work is documented using the appropriate standards, methods and tools.

* Lead, motivate and inspire team members and facilitate dialogue with them regarding expectations, progress, performance and development needs.

* Ensure the security and integrity of data by encouraging and enforcing adherence to IT standards that ensure availability, integrity, authentication and confidentiality.

* Identify risks, coordinate risk assessment, manage agreed actions (which may involve acceptance of risk, risk reduction or mitigations to avoid / eliminate risks), and monitor the status of risks on an ongoing basis.

The ideal candidate will have the following skills, abiliites and experience:

* A mid weight full stack developer with at least 3 years experience.

* Built an online booking system

* Built a fully functional website/web app working on the backend and the frontend

* Worked on a project from the initial phases to the final launch

* Experience with C#, MVC, Web API Development experience and Angular

* Knowledge about TDD,CI/CD Pipeline (for eg : CircleCI,TeamCity etc)

* Experience with source version control (Github)

* Experience in building API interfaces

* Experience in microservice architecture

* Agile experience and able to work in a multi-disciplinary team
