We are currently seeking a dedicated Nursery Assistant to join a friendly and nurturing nursery setting in the Bristol area. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about early years education to become part of a supportive and professional team.
About the NurseryThis nursery provides a safe, caring, and inclusive environment where children are encouraged to explore, play, and grow. The team is committed to nurturing each child’s individuality and supporting their emotional, social, and cognitive development.
The RoleAs a Nursery Assistant, you’ll play a key role in supporting the daily care, learning, and development of children. You’ll assist in planning and delivering engaging activities, help maintain a safe and clean environment, and work closely with colleagues and parents to ensure each child’s needs are met.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise and ensure the safety and wellbeing of all children
- Support children’s learning and development through play and structured activities
- Assist in planning and implementing age-appropriate learning experiences
- Help with feeding, nappy changing, and toileting routines
- Keep the nursery clean and organized, including sanitizing toys and equipment
- Observe and track children’s progress, sharing information with senior staff and parents
- Build strong, positive relationships with children, families, and team members
- Promote children’s emotional, physical, and social development
- Follow all safeguarding, health & safety, and hygiene procedures
- Set up and pack away resources and play areas as needed
- Encourage positive behaviour and help children develop social skills
- Participate in staff meetings and training sessions
What We're Looking For- A caring, reliable, and enthusiastic individual
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- An interest in early years education and child development
- Previous experience in a childcare setting is beneficial but not essential
