About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated Learning Support Tutor / Access Arrangements Assessor who is JCQ-qualified (Level 7) and experienced in supporting learners with SpLD, SEMH, and mental health needs. You will carry out specialist assessments, deliver personalised 1-to-1 academic and skills sessions, and contribute to high-quality EHCP creation and review.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct JCQ-compliant Exam Access Arrangements (EAA) assessments and complete Form 8 documentation to required standards.
  • Write, review, and update EHCPs, ensuring all outcomes, evidence, and specialist input are accurately recorded.
  • Deliver 1:1 academic tutoring, study skills, and support sessions tailored to SpLD and SEMH learners.
  • Facilitate small-group interventions focused on emotional regulation, resilience, and learning strategies.
  • Liaise professionally with external agencies, parents/carers, pastoral teams, and safeguarding leads.
  • Monitor learner progress, produce written reports, and maintain accurate records in line with FE sector compliance and safeguarding frameworks.
  • Use trauma-informed and mental-health-aware approaches to support learners with confidence, attendance, and engagement.
  • Contribute to annual reviews, case conferences, and multi-disciplinary meetings where appropriate.
What We’re Looking For
  • PGCE (or equivalent teaching qualification)
  • Level 7 SpLD/Assessor Qualification (JCQ-compliant)
  • Experience supporting learners with mental health or SEMH needs
  • Ability to create, review, and deliver content linked to EHCP outcomes
  • Confident delivering 1:1 or small-group SEMH/SpLD support
  • A recognised SEMH or mental health qualification (or equivalent experience)
