Principal General Building Control Inspector - Hourly Rate: £45–£50

Join our Planning, Licensing & Building Control team within the Growth & Development directorate at the Council. As a Principal General Building Control Inspector, you will lead and deliver complex and specialist building control services across a significant area of responsibility. This role is crucial in providing expert technical consultancy, overseeing major projects, and contributing to strategic and operational objectives.
Day-to-day of the role: - Act as a subject matter expert in building control, delivering innovative and compliant technical solutions.
- Lead the design and implementation of frameworks that support effective service delivery.
- Manage and deliver complex work packages to meet legal, strategic, and customer requirements.
- Support the development and review of organisational strategies and ensure performance targets are met.
- Provide operational and strategic input into regulatory inspections and governance processes.
- Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships through effective negotiation and communication.
- Commission work packages internally and externally to ensure comprehensive decision-making.
- Promote and embody the Council’s “Our People” approach.
- Manage assigned resources, including staff, budgets, and other assets, to ensure continuous improvement.
- Participate in rota-based working, including out-of-hours duties as required.
