About the role:

To provide support throughout Thrive’s estate by completing / co-ordinating maintenance, installation and repair work at buildings or large complexes. To be able to effectively manage and co-ordinate contractors and teams consisting of workers who execute tasks according to their projects’ requirements, through training colleagues and ensuring the smooth running of upkeep or repair operations. You will support the Property / Health & Safety Compliance Manager in the delivery of maintenance and estate improvement projects safely, to the required standard and on time / within budget.

In this role, you will:

  • Ensure work completed by contractors is to the required standard and within the agreed budgets and timescales.
  • Support Nursery Managers with their Heath and Safety inspections and responsibilities.
  • Carry out general maintenance to the nurseries such as plumbing, painting and decorating, roofing, lock repairs and general repairs.
  • Work closely with the Nursery Managers to ensure that children are kept in a safe environment throughout work / refurbishment.
  • Keep all maintenance logs and records up to date. Smart phone and Laptop will be provided.
  • This role requires regular travel throughout Scotland, with occasional travel to our England sites.

Experience, Education & Skills Required:

  • Full clean UK Driving License - Essential (must be over the age of 25, work van will be provided)
  • Previous maintenance experience - Essential
  • Have good communication skills able to build relationships and deliver information to colleagues at all levels of the business - Essential
  • Awareness of Asbestos / Legionella - Essential
  • To have excellent communication skills over the phone, but also face to face - Essential
