On behalf of my client, a global Aerospace and Defence manufacturer organisation based in Greater Manchester I am pleased to present the opportunity for a Safety Management Systems Engineer on a long-term fixed term contract basis.

The Safety Management Systems Engineer will be responsible for developing and providing oversight of the Company's safety management system in accordance with ICAO SMS framework for small organisations and UK CAA Part 21G and 145 requirements.

You will be responsible for:

Setting the strategy and objections of the Safety Management System
Ensuring the implementation and the ongoing performance and effectiveness of the SMS
Ensuring SMS processes are established, implemented and maintained
Promoting safety awareness and a positive safety culture
Ensuring identified hazards and issues (NCRIs and FRACAS) are managed and resolved
Maintaining safety documentation and records
Chairing safety meetings such as SRB, SAG and Product Safety committeesYou:

Previous experience of establishing a SNMS in a production and/or maintenance organisation
Understanding of safety related principles in an aviation/military or aerospace setting
Strong communication skills
Process focused and strong attention to detail
Formal training or practical experience of ICAO SMS / EU (Apply online only) Subpart G / EU (Apply online only) Part 145The package:
