Service Engineer, Electro-Mechanical, Robotics, Travel - Farnborough, Hampshire to £50,000

A leading Robotics and Automation outfit are requiring a Service Engineer /Robotics Service Engineer to maintaining robotic and automated equipment across the UK and Northern Europe. This role is most suited to individuals with strong IT, Electrical and Communication skills that enjoy travelling to support installation/repairs/upgrades/PMs

A service engineer will be focused on all aspects of automation on customers sites, this includes servicing robotics to installation. The job requires someone who is interested in travelling and is available at short notice. A positive attitude to problem solving and thinking on your feet is a must to meet deadlines. This is a challenging role that would suit someone with strong IT skill set.

Electro-Mechanical Responsibilities


* Become familiar with all aspects of laboratory automation and assembling bespoke automated systems.

* Assist with the manufacture of robotic work cells as required. This will help to build a strong understanding of systems before the Engineer is sent into the field alone.

* Part of the installation team to re-assemble robotic work cells on our customers sites globally.

* Attend customer site on short notice to analyse reported issues and perform repairs.

* Communicate accurately with customer and formally record agreements between Service Engineer and Customer on paper or via e-mail.

Key Job Skills


* Problem solver able to overcome unforeseen challenges quickly & effectively

* Understanding of PC- Based systems (TCP/IP, RS232) and windows/office.

* fundamental programming skills advantageous ( C++, Python & VB.Net)

* Independent thinker with acute attention to detail

* Proficient in using hand power tools such as, drills & taps.

* Highly motivated, passionate and results-driven

* Previous experience of working effectively in project teams to deliver projects on time and to budget

* A keen learner that wishes to understand all aspects of laboratory automation

* Solid organisational and multitasking skills

* A proven history in mechanical, automation engineering or related discipline


* Technical qualification in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, robotics or related field.

* Clean Driving License.

* Excellent written and spoken communication skills
