Location: St Helena, (Sub-tropical Island) South Atlantic
Salary: £35,000-£40,000 per annum pro rata + allowances + benefits
Description: This the opportunity of a lifetime for an experienced ITU Staff Nurse to work in a beautiful setting, located in a sub-tropical Island of the South Atlantic Ocean.
There is a small Health Service on St Helena, however, as a result of the covid-19 virus their government are taking steps to ensure they have the required additional resources in the event that the virus presents itself on the island. Currently there are no confirmed cases.
They require an experienced ITU Staff Nurse to support critically unwell patients both in the hospital and the temporary hospital set up for treatment of COVID 19 patients on island. You will also work across all areas of the hospital including the emergency department, medical and surgical wards and theatre recovery as needed should there be no ITU cases on island and to attend ambulance calls as the 1st responder as required.
The post is set within a 28-bed hospital, situated within an island of spectacular and beautiful landscapes. The community consists of roughly 4500 warm and friendly people, and with recent expansion of their International airport the island is set to develop even more.
The contract will last until March 2021
To succeed as a Staff Nurse in this role you will need to:
• Registered with NMC as a Registered Nurse;
• Need to have a least 3 years post graduate experience in ITU;
• A Diploma in Critical Care would be advantageous;
• Good command of the English language.
