An outstanding opportunity has arisen for an ambitious Architect to join the Chorley studio of a highly respected architectural practice specialising in the healthcare sector. Known for delivering thoughtful, technically robust and patient-centred environments, this practice has built an excellent reputation for designing facilities that genuinely improve healthcare experiences for patients, clinicians and communities.

With a strong and expanding pipeline of projects across the UK, they are now seeking a talented Project Architect who is passionate about architecture that makes a real difference.

This is a rare chance to work on complex, meaningful projects where design quality, technical excellence and collaboration are equally valued.

The Opportunity

As an Architect within the healthcare team, you will play a key role in delivering innovative healthcare environments from concept through to completion. Working alongside an experienced and supportive team, you will contribute to projects that range from refurbishment and specialist clinical facilities through to major new healthcare developments.

You will have the opportunity to take ownership of projects, influence design outcomes and work closely with clients, consultants and contractors to deliver spaces that improve patient care and staff wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities

You will:

Lead and contribute to projects across RIBA Stages 07
Develop and interpret client briefs, business cases and strategic project requirements
Prepare concept and developed designs, including BIM outputs, specifications and project strategies
Undertake feasibility studies and site analysis
Ensure designs meet regulatory, technical and quality standards
Manage project risks and contribute to project planning and delivery strategies
Prepare technical packages, specifications and tender documentation
Coordinate with consultants, contractors and wider project teams
Manage planning and building regulations submissions
Conduct site visits to monitor progress, quality and compliance
Resolve technical and delivery challenges during construction
Promote sustainable and environmentally responsible design
About You

You will be a motivated Architect who enjoys both the design and delivery stages of projects and thrives in a collaborative environment.

You should be able to demonstrate:

RIBA Part 3 qualification and ARB registration
25 years' post-qualification experience
Good working knowledge of Revit and BIM
Experience delivering projects through multiple RIBA stages
Healthcare sector experience (desirable but not essential)
Experience contributing to larger projects and leading smaller schemes
Excellent knowledge of UK building regulations and design standards
Strong communication, leadership and organisational skills
A collaborative approach and the ability to build strong client and team relationships
