Children's Support Worker (Schools)- SEPTEMBER

Milk Education are recruiting for a purpose-driven, ambitious SEND Teaching Assistant. 

You’ll be joining an inclusive and supportive school, focused on diversity and promoting a loving academic environment for those with additional needs.

This is an exciting role for an experienced educator to join a fantastic school to support pupils in reaching their potential!

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Children's Support Worker to join our team at a vibrant and inclusive Secondary SEN School from September 2025. This is a full-time position, supporting pupils in Key Stage 3 with a range of learning, physical, and medical needs.

You will play a vital role in helping our students access learning, develop life skills, and feel safe and valued in the school environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide one-to-one and small group support for KS3 pupils with a variety of special educational needs and disabilities (SEND)

  • Assist students with personal care, feeding, and medical needs, including the use of specialist equipment (full training provided)

  • Work closely with teaching staff, therapists, and external healthcare professionals to deliver tailored support plans

  • Help create a positive, nurturing, and stimulating environment that supports student learning and well-being

  • Monitor progress and contribute to individual education and care plans (IEPs and EHCPs)

Requirements:
  • Previous experience working with children or young people with medical and/or educational needs

  • Knowledge of safeguarding, child protection, and working in a school environment

  • A calm, patient, and empathetic approach to supporting students with high needs

  • Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable but not essential)

  • Willingness to undertake relevant medical and care training
