We are looking for an experienced SEMH Specialist Tutor to support students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs in St Helens. This role is perfect for a passionate tutor who can create a supportive and nurturing learning environment for students who may be facing emotional, behavioural, and academic challenges.

Alongside providing emotional and behavioural support, you will also help students with essential Maths and English learning, ensuring they bridge key academic gaps while developing their emotional resilience.

Key Responsibilities:
Deliver one-to-one support for students with SEMH needs, fostering emotional regulation and boosting confidence.
Provide tailored Maths and English lessons to meet each students individual learning needs and abilities.
Use a calm and patient approach to manage behaviour and build trust with students.
Adapt teaching methods to meet the academic and emotional needs of the learner in real-time.
Establish a safe and supportive learning environment, enabling students to engage fully with their lessons.
Track student progress and provide constructive, regular feedback to parents, carers, and professionals.
Essential Requirements:
Minimum of 1 years experience working with students with SEMH needs.
Experience delivering Maths and/or English at a functional level or GCSE level.
Strong understanding of behaviour management strategies and emotional support techniques.
Right to work in the UK.
Must have, or be willing to obtain, an Enhanced DBS check.
Desirable Qualifications:
Teaching qualification (PGCE, QTS) or relevant experience in education or youth work.
Training in behaviour management, trauma-informed practice, or safeguarding.
Experience working with students with Autism, ADHD, or additional learning needs.
