A welcoming and inclusive school is seeking a proactive and organised Reception & Admissions Administrator to join their team on a temporary basis, with the potential for a permanent role. This is a key front-facing position, ideal for someone who thrives in a busy environment and enjoys working with families and professionals.

Key Responsibilities

Reception Duties

  • Act as the first point of contact for visitors, staff, and callers
  • Manage the signing-in process and ensure safeguarding protocols are followed
  • Handle general administrative tasks such as photocopying, filing, and post distribution
  • Maintain stock levels of stationery and office supplies

Admissions

  • Serve as the main contact for all applications and consultation papers
  • Liaise with internal teams and external stakeholders to coordinate referral responses
  • Organise and manage initial visits and assessments for prospective students
  • Process admissions paperwork and ensure accurate data entry into school systems

Suitability Assessments

  • Coordinate and schedule suitability assessments for new and prospective pupils
  • Communicate with families and professionals to ensure smooth assessment processes
  • Provide a welcoming and supportive experience for visiting families

Safeguarding

  • Be fully aware of safeguarding responsibilities under the Children’s Act and related guidance
  • Report any concerns to the appropriate safeguarding lead
Ideal Candidate
  • Previous experience in a school or similar administrative environment
  • DBS 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Confident using IT systems and managing sensitive information
  • A calm, professional, and welcoming manner
