Targeted Prevention Worker - Royal Borough of Kensington & Chelsea

Are you a passionate, dedicated Targeted Prevention Worker looking for your next role? 4Recruitment Services are recruiting a Targeted Prevention Worker to join a Family Services Team based in Royal Borough of Kensington & Chelsea.

£20.02 - £24.92 per hour.

3 months initially

36 hours a week.

The role:

Tasked with implementing inventive group initiatives aimed at assisting young individuals in their educational, training, and employment endeavours.
Collaborating with young individuals to develop programs using robust evidence-based or research methodologies.
Provide concentrated support through mentoring and coaching models to motivate and assist young individuals.
Proactively engage with young individuals and adapt flexibly and creatively to sustain their motivation and involvement, employing principles of motivational interviewing.
Collaborate with young individuals and their families within a systemic framework to evaluate strengths and requirements, assisting them in creating a detailed action plan.
Advocate for and ensure the protection of young individuals across various contexts, being mindful of potential risks concerning physical health, emotional well-being, education, sexual development, exploitation, crime, gang involvement, and personal finances.
 Establish and nurture respectful, honest, supportive, and challenging relationships with young individuals, including those who may have had limited contact with services and might be difficult to reach.
Operate within diverse community settings such as youth clubs and youth hubs, and conduct outreach alongside the Detached and Outreach team to connect with young individuals who aren't actively involved with services.
Stay informed about emerging research and evidence-based interventions related to child and adolescent development, and ensure that targeted group interventions effectively support the provision of universal and early intervention services for children and families.
Acknowledge and honor the rights of young individuals, ensuring their active involvement in their own plans and within the broader community. This includes their participation in designing, delivering, and evaluating youth work programs, exit strategies, and services.
Perform additional tasks as required by the responsibilities of the position.
Requirements

Hold a Level 3 Formal IAG Qualification with a readiness to pursue Level 6 or another pertinent qualification (such as in youth work, teaching, or social work), coupled with substantial experience in engaging with NEET young individuals.
Possess a strong educational background in general studies.
Achieved a minimum of grade C or equivalent in both English and mathematics at GCSE level.
Extensive experience in offering assistance to vulnerable and difficult-to-engage young individuals and their families.
Proficiency in handling children and young individuals exhibiting challenging behaviours, along with comprehension of the effects of trauma on young lives and the resultant behavioural reactions.
Familiarity with providing comprehensive support programs that are adaptable to the requirements of particular groups.
