Job Purpose: You will play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality, robust, and secure IT services. This position is crucial for contributing to the University's strategic goals through specialist knowledge of procurement and finance, aiming to enhance service efficiency and address complex issues.
Day-to-day of the role:
Purchasing & Ordering:
- Contribute to delivering an efficient and fit-for-purpose ITS purchase ordering and invoice processing capacity and capability.
- Adhere to guidance ensuring alignment of purchasing and ordering of assets with ITS strategies, policies, and processes including the Device Policy.
- Assist with implementing the IT software license compliance programme including tracking and reporting on non-compliance risks and issues, as well as developing, documenting, and communicating the underlying processes.
- Make recommendations and provide proactive and pertinent input to technology sourcing and supplier management options as they relate to financial goals and plans.
- Assess key information and data sources to ensure they are maintained, accessible, and can be used to drive management reporting and decision information in line with agreed service standards.
- Ensure that purchasing and ordering processes are in line with the IT sourcing strategy and adhere to the University’s procurement standards, making recommendations as appropriate.
- Provide quotes and advice on purchasing, processing expense claims, interdepartmental transfers, and any other financial advice as required.
Business Support:
- Assess/analyse complex situations/problems/data; present results and make recommendations to support informed decision making.
- Maintain relevant documentation and contribute to planned change control.
- Contribute towards continually improving delivery, effectiveness, impact, and outcomes of business support to IT Services and partners within Professional Services teams.
- Work collaboratively with senior leaders and managers, staff, and students, to establish and manage service standards for the Business Support Team.
- Assist with keeping the ITS web pages relevant to the Business Support team current and up to date.
- Contribute to projects to support the achievement of IT Strategy.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- In-depth knowledge of procurement and finance within an IT setting.
- Proven ability to manage complex purchasing and financial processes.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess complex situations and data.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building strong working relationships.
- Experience in managing and adhering to SLAs and KPIs.
- Ability to work independently and manage one’s workload effectively.
- Familiarity with IT sourcing strategies and University procurement standards.
