The Geophysics team within the Marine Site Characterisation division is now looking for an enthusiastic Proposal Management professional to join the team based in our waterfront offices in Portchester, on the UK’s south coast.
Working as a pivotal part of the team, the Proposal Management professional will primarily be responsible for writing tenders for Geophysical projects world-wide whilst maintaining excellent relationships with clients through responding to enquiries, active follow-ups and identifying opportunities.
The Marine Geophysics team specialises in marine renewable and oil & gas projects.
geophysical (site characterisation and UXO survey).
As 95% of this role involves preparing tenders, it will suit someone who enjoys the detailed work of tender production who either comes from a marine survey background with a good understanding of the principles of commercial tendering or someone who has a commercial, project management or service sales background in a related discipline.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES The duties and responsibilities associated with this position include, but are not limited to: Liaise with the management & commercial teams to assess the viability of every opportunity to bid and ensure recommendations are documented; Write and/or coordinate the writing of the proposals; Determine the best technical strategy for every bid (vessels, equipment, personnel, methods etc.
); Liaise with other commercial business development staff to determine commercial strategies for each bid; Determine ways to provide value to our clients whilst achieving target margins; Ensure all relevant tender clarification questions are submitted on time; Oversee the review of all draft contracts and assist with contract negotiations/ agreements; Represent the Marine Site Characterisation, as necessary, at sales meetings & client negotiation; Maintain and update CRM systems with all projects and opportunities.
REQUIREMENTS Qualifications required: A degree qualification in a business, science-based discipline or equivalent experience.
Skills required: Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal; Able to work alone, in a team and lead a small team; Able to negotiate positive outcomes; Be able to anticipate problems and ensure early intervention; Computer literate Experience required: Experience in relevant technical discipline and/or Experience in marine oil and gas and renewable energy industries tendering, contract review, project management, finance and/or accounting.
