Salary: £160 - £220/day

We are recruiting on behalf of a highly regarded primary school in Wigan that is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Primary School Teacher to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and delivering high-quality lessons, fostering a positive learning environment, and ensuring that pupils achieve their full potential both academically and personally.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Planning & Teaching

Deliver creative, engaging, and well-structured lessons aligned with the national curriculum.

Differentiate teaching strategies to meet the needs of all learners, including those with SEND and EAL.

Use a range of assessment tools to track and evaluate pupil progress effectively.

Classroom & Pupil Management

Create a safe, stimulating, and inclusive classroom environment.

Maintain high expectations for behaviour and learning, ensuring a positive and respectful atmosphere.

Encourage pupil independence, curiosity, and resilience.

Collaboration & Communication

Work closely with colleagues, teaching assistants, and school leaders to support whole-school development.

Establish strong and supportive relationships with parents and carers, providing regular updates on pupil progress.

Contribute to staff meetings, training sessions, and wider school initiatives.

Professional Development & Safeguarding

Engage in continuing professional development to enhance practice.

Demonstrate a thorough understanding of safeguarding responsibilities and adhere to all school and statutory safeguarding policies.

Essential Requirements

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).

Proven experience of teaching within a primary school setting.

Strong knowledge of the national curriculum.

Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to motivate and inspire pupils.

Strong organisational, interpersonal, and communication skills.

A genuine passion for teaching and commitment to pupil progress and well-being.

Desirable Skills & Experience

Experience in delivering phonics and early reading programmes.

Familiarity with assessment frameworks such as EYFS, KS1, or KS2 SATs.

Experience supporting children with additional learning needs.

A willingness to contribute to extra-curricular activities and enrichment programmes.
