Contract: TemporaryWorking hours: 8:30 – 3:30, Full TimePay: £95 – £105 per day

Start date: Tuesday 21st April - May half term (with the potential to be extended)

Please note: to be considered for this role, you must have previous experience working as a TA within a pirmary setting AND have experience leading the whole class in the absence of the teacher.

The Supply Register are a managed service provider working in partnership with schools across Lincolnshire, including a friendly and supportive primary school in Gainsborough.

We are looking for a committed and enthusiastic Primary Teaching Assistant to join one of our partner schools starting on Tuesday 21st April. The successful candidate will support as a classroom TA and will also be required to cover PPA for two afternoons per week.

Position Overview:

As a Teaching Assistant, you will provide a blend of classroom support and 1:1 support for pupils with SEND when required. You will work closely with class teachers to help pupils progress academically, socially, and emotionally while contributing to a positive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide consistent support to identified pupils, helping them access learning and daily routines.
  • Provide support as a classroom TA, with PPA cover for two afternoons weekly.
  • Assist with small-group work and one-to-one interventions where required.
  • Support class teachers in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons.
  • Help maintain a nurturing, safe, and stimulating learning environment.
  • Encourage pupils’ independence, confidence, and emotional wellbeing.
  • Communicate effectively with teachers, parents, and wider staff regarding pupil progress.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Previous experience working with children in a UK primary setting is essential.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting young learners.
  • Relevant qualifications in education or childcare are desirable but not essential.
  • Willingness to undertake training and ongoing professional development.
