The Opportunity
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join a well-established engineering organisation delivering technically complex projects in the nuclear sector. You will play a key role in leading mechanical engineering delivery, shaping safe and compliant designs, and supporting the development of people and processes.

This role would suit candidates working in these roles
Lead Mechanical Engineer, Principal Mechanical Engineer, Mechanical Design Engineer, Project Mechanical Engineer, Engineering Manager, Mechanical Engineering Consultant, Plant Engineer, Senior Project Engineer, Equipment Engineer, or Mechanical Technical Authority.

Your duties and responsibilities will be
Take ownership of delivering mechanical engineering work packages in line with technical specifications, safety requirements, and quality standards.
Lead and coordinate mechanical engineering activities across all project phases, from specification and design through procurement, installation, testing, commissioning, and operator support.
Produce, review, and authorise engineering documentation, ensuring timely and accurate delivery throughout the project lifecycle.
Contribute to technical, engineering, and safety reviews while ensuring full compliance with relevant legislation and statutory regulations.
Provide technical leadership through mentoring, contractor management, safety leadership, and the development of cost-effective engineering solutions.You will have the following qualifications and experience
A strong grounding in mechanical engineering principles with a track record of delivery in highly regulated environments.
Experience delivering mechanical engineering solutions involving plant layout, equipment installation, alignment, testing, and commissioning.
A solid understanding of safety-led design, regulatory compliance, and industry safety legislation.
Experience leading design teams, managing suppliers or subcontractors, and supporting project or bid activities.
Strong organisational, communication, and commercial awareness skills, with professional membership and nuclear sector experience considered advantageous.Get in touch now
