Position: ASD Specialist Teaching Assistant

Location: Scunthorpe

Contract: Part-Time or Full-time, long-term

Salary: £95–£115 per day (DOE)

About the Role

We are looking for a compassionate, patient and emotionally intelligent ASC Specialist TA to support pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition. Many pupils experience sensory sensitivities, anxiety around transitions, and communication differences. You will play a key role in helping them feel safe, regulated and understood.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with ASC
• Use structured routines, visual aids and clear communication
• Support sensory regulation and reduce anxiety triggers
• Build positive, trusting relationships to encourage engagement
• Work closely with teachers, SENCO and therapy teams

What We’re Looking For

• Experience supporting children with ASC or additional needs
• Calm, patient approach with strong emotional intelligence
• Understanding of sensory needs and communication differences
• Ability to use proactive and positive support strategies
