Salary: £350 - £370/day

Site Supervisor at Walpole 400kV Substation (PE14 7JE) Comfortable with both civil and M&E

Duration: 2 year project, offer a 6 month rolling contract commencing from 26/08/25

Job Description Summary:

The candidate shall assist the site manager and supervise the works on site including interfacing with and sensibly monitoring any subcontractors whilst feeding back the necessary information to the site manager Complete all necessary internal reporting to a high standard and lead by example when interfacing with external parties such as clients, project stakeholders, sub-consultants/subcontractors, enforcement agencies, local planning authorities & statutory bodies.

The individual should be experienced in delivering all aspects of substation works including supervising the M&E, Civil, commissioning and fencing works. The candidate would ideally be happy to work towards gaining there SR163 authorisation to provide short term site cover when required.

Job Duties:

Ensure compliance to CDM regulations on site.

Ensure all setting to work procedures are followed

Ensure works are delivered to a programme whilst maintaining the highest standards of health and safety

Produce reports and provide information in a timely manner

To provide sufficient and timely supervision and guidance to ensure staff and sub-contractors are performing to agreed production levels

To maintain own levels of skill and knowledge to do the job effectively

To perform other duties as directed by your line manager or management team

To comply with the relevant Company HSQE and welfare policy provisions

To support clients and ensure all agreed KPIs are met or exceeded

Promote best practice, capture best practice and ensure it is fed-back into the business.

Lead by example in health, safety, quality & environmental management.

Ensure quality standards are met and maintained throughout the project and assist with the generation of as built drawings

Assist with the implementation of Safe Systems of Work including issuing

Permits to Dig and Hot Works permits Set others to work and monitor throughout the task / project

Minimum Qualifications:

Full UK driving licence

Nation Grid Competent Person

NSI 6 & 8 Full

IOSHH Managing Safely or SMSTS or SSSTS

IOSH environmental or equivalent

CSCS or CCNSG Safety Passport

HSG47

First Aid

Minimum 5 years' experience in the T&D industry in a civil role, preferably on National Grid sites Previous experience at a supervisory level

Desirable:

HNC / HND in civil Engineering HNC / HND in Electrical / Mechanical Engineering Formal Electrical / Mechanical training

Impressed Voltage training

Temporary Works Coordinator or Supervisor experience

IOSH environmental or equivalent

The ability to empathise, communicate and influence stakeholders and the Project Team.

The ability to lead by example and motivate the project team.

Excellent organizational, communication and time management skills. Be able to work on own initiative.

Computer literate.

Must be able to communicate professionally and effectively,

Must have the skills and confidence to supervise and coordinate site requirements and tasks

Must have an understanding/ knowledge of the clients Transmission procedures

Physical Requirements:

Site based role. Must have the ability to safely manoeuvre around a construction site including uneven and rough terrain on foot for up to 10 hours per day. For the office element they must have the ability to use repetitive hand motion and the ability to grasp and type using general office equipment. Must be able to sit for long periods of time, talk, hear, walk and stand. Must be able to lift and or move up to 10 pounds.

Schedule and Work Activities:

50 hours per week, based on 5 x 10 hour days plus travel to client offices/sites

Travel:

Ability to travel nationally is required for the role. Level of travel may vary over time depending on project and client requirements, but expectation is up to 100% of working time spent travelling per year depending on project location

The induvial should be able to book and arrange all of their own travel and accommodation
