Position Overview: We are seeking a Contracts Manager to oversee three projects in the West Midlands region. The Contracts Manager will be responsible for managing the successful delivery of these projects, ensuring high-quality workmanship, adherence to project schedules, and effective cost management. The ideal candidate will have a technical or engineering background and a strong understanding of groundworks and civil engineering in the commercial construction sector.


* Manage and oversee the execution of three projects concurrently, ensuring compliance with project specifications, quality standards, and health and safety regulations.

* Coordinate and communicate effectively with project stakeholders, including clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams, to ensure smooth project delivery.

* Develop and maintain project schedules, monitor progress, and proactively address any delays or issues to ensure timely project completion.

* Implement effective cost control measures, monitor project budgets, and work closely with the Quantity Surveyor to manage variations and claims.

* Conduct regular site visits and inspections to ensure compliance with project plans, quality standards, and safety protocols.

* Provide technical guidance and support to the project teams, resolving technical issues and ensuring the appropriate use of materials, equipment, and techniques.

* Foster a positive and collaborative working environment, promoting teamwork and effective communication among project teams.

* Monitor and report on project performance, highlighting key metrics, risks, and opportunities to senior management.

* Identify and implement process improvements to enhance project delivery efficiency and effectiveness.

Qualifications and Skills:

* Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field is preferred.

* Proven experience as a Contracts Manager or similar role in the commercial construction industry, with a focus on groundworks and civil engineering.

* Strong understanding of construction contracts, specifications, and drawings.

* Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

* Proficient in interpreting engineering drawings, technical documents, and construction plans.

* Knowledge of health and safety regulations and the ability to enforce compliance on construction sites.

* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams.

* Strong leadership and team management abilities.

* Proficient in using project management software and tools.

* Willingness to travel to project sites across the West Midlands region
