DT Technician - Annual Salary: £14,202 (pro-rata)

The School is excited to offer an opportunity for a skilled DT Technician to join our Creative Arts faculty. This role is ideal for individuals who are practical, safety-conscious, and thrive in a creative, workshop-style environment. As a DT Technician, you will play a crucial behind-the-scenes role in supporting the educational journey of our students.
Day-to-day of the role: - Examine curriculum plans and liaise with teaching staff to identify technical support needs.
- Maintain appropriate stock levels of apparatus, equipment, and tools, including stock checks and order placements.
- Organise and store equipment, apparatus, tools, and materials in compliance with regulations and guidance.
- Participate in the development of the Design and Technology department’s technical and practical facilities.
- Prepare and set up equipment for use in practical classes and occasionally conduct demonstrations.
- Ensure the practical requirements of assessments and examinations are met.
- Provide technical advice and support during practical classes.
- Maintain safety standards in the department, conducting regular safety checks.
- Support the wider school's practical and technical needs as appropriate.
Required Skills & Qualifications: - Good general education to level 2, with a Level 2 qualification in Design Technology considered an asset.
- Experience in a creative or educational setting is desirable.
- Knowledge of health and safety requirements.
- Excellent literacy, numeracy, and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively and in an organised, methodical manner.
- Capability to work calmly under pressure and exercise sound judgment.
