Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant needed in Derbyshire!
Experience working with children with Autism desirable.
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for 2 Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistants in schools across Derby, working as a team to cover sickness and staff training
The schools have a large amount of pupils of various abilities, ranging from moderate learning difficulties to complex and profound needs.
The post requires talented SEN TA / Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistants who are flexible, enthusiastic and dedicated to supporting children with educational needs to join their team of dedicated staff.
All applicants must be NVQ Level 2/3 qualified or equivalent and have a minimum of 6 months' experience working with children with special educational needs and disabilities.
You must have sound knowledge of working in a variety of roles with children with special needs as this role will require the successful candidates to be very flexible.
You will need to feel confident working 1 to 1 with a child or as part of a close nit team with children with varied needs.
If you are able to plan your own sessions this would be a definite advantage.
The role will include:
- Assisting the teacher with classroom preparation
- work with students who require additional support
- Leading group work
- 1to1 support
- Helping the class teacher with pupil observations
