Civil Technician
We are working with a growing, design-led civil and structural engineering consultancy delivering high-quality solutions across residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments. The business is known for its practical, buildable approach and strong focus on efficiency, sustainability, and technical excellence.
Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint a Civil Technician to support the delivery of infrastructure and drainage designs across a range of development schemes.
 
Key Responsibilities
·Produce detailed civil engineering drawings using AutoCAD (and Civils 3D where applicable)
·Assist in the design of:
oDrainage systems (foul and surface water)
oHighways and external works
oLevels, earthworks, and site layouts
·Support the preparation of technical drawings for planning and construction stages
·Liaise with engineers to develop practical and cost-effective design solutions
·Coordinate with architects, clients, and external consultants
·Ensure designs comply with current UK standards, regulations, and local authority requirements
·Assist with Section 38, 104, and 278 submissions
·Contribute to project delivery from concept through to construction
 
Requirements
·Experience working as a Civil Technician within a consultancy environment
·Proficient in AutoCAD (essential); Civils 3D experience desirable
·Good understanding of:
oDrainage design principles
oHighways design and site development
oUK design standards and approvals processes
·Experience working on residential developments or similar projects
·Strong attention to detail and ability to work within deadlines
·Good communication and teamwork skills
 
Desirable
·Experience with drainage design software (e.g. MicroDrainage / InfoDrainage)
·Familiarity with SuDS and sustainable design principles
·Working knowledge of BIM or 3D modelling tools
·HNC/HND or degree in Civil Engineering (or similar)
