I'm currently recruiting on behalf of my client, a Leading Tier1 Main Contractor an experienced Regional Design Manager

Salary range: £85K -£95K +package's this will be based on experience

About the role

As Regional Design Manager, you'll play a key leadership role within our pre-construction and project delivery teams. You'll manage design input across multiple live and tender-stage projects, ensuring designs are coordinated, buildable, and commercially viable - while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and compliance.

Working closely with internal teams, consultants, and clients, you'll be instrumental in developing innovative and cost-effective design solutions that support successful project outcomes from concept through to handover.

Responsibilities:

* Lead and manage design management team of 14 across multiple projects in your region.

* Oversee design development from tender through construction and completion.

* Coordinate consultant design teams and internal stakeholders to ensure fully integrated solutions.

* Provide technical and strategic design advice to bid and delivery teams.

* Review drawings, specifications, and design reports for compliance and value engineering opportunities.

* Maintain strong relationships with clients, design partners, and subcontractors.

* Support continuous improvement and innovation across the regional business.

Requirements :

* Proven experience as a Design Manager or Regional Design Manager within a main contracting environment.

* Strong knowledge of design and build contracts, including JCT and DfMA principles.

* Excellent leadership, communication, and coordination skills.

* Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and deliver under pressure.

* Relevant qualifications in architecture, engineering, or construction management.
