The Student Support Service provides invaluable support to students at each stage of their journey from pre-entry to post exit. We have a student orientated culture and put students’ needs at the heart of everything we do.
As our Student Engagement Advisor, you’ll provide comprehensive, responsive, and flexible support in the Student Support Centre, student communal areas and at other sites, around a diverse range of issues as well as supporting programmed enrichment activities.
You will work in close liaison with students, staff, and external organisations to safeguard students and support them in achieving their full potential. You’ll offer holistic support tailored to their needs and engage students within the wider community to college life and the preparation for life in society.
- A passionate, pro-active team player with a positive 'can-do’ approach.
- Qualified to Level 3 (or above) in an appropriate subject such as Youth & Community, Education, Psychology, Sociology or Health & Social Care.
- Previous experience of working with young people, either in an education setting or youth and community work.
- Understand the barriers that young people in education may face and the strategies to support them to overcome these.
- Knowledge of Safeguarding practices, data protection regulations and referral procedures in relation to student information.
