Job Description: Assistant Manager

 An Assistant Manager’s purpose is to oversee all of the Supervisors, Shift Leads and Team Member’s work while coaching them to improve performance at any given time at any location.  Assistant Managers will physically clean for the purposes of covering for an absent employee, coaching, training or reducing labor cost purposes. Position is 3rd shift (graveyard shift). Duties to be performed include:

  • Assist in creating programs or procedures that help AMB grow and run efficiently
  • Assist in establishing and implementing AMB policies, goals, objectives, and procedures
  • Conduct and/or oversee employee performance evaluations for all staff
  • Consistently present a positive can do attitude
  • Coordination of employees at multiple locations and/or concepts for the purpose of complete nightly cleaning of all contracted accounts 
  • Deliver write ups, action plans and the like when necessary
  • Facilitate and resolve employee conflict when necessary
  • Make sure all equipment is in good working order
  • Monitors and inspects team member’s work to ensure it meets AMB standards of cleanliness
  • Prepare and submit work schedules for all staff by the deliverable date(s)
  • Review and enforce company policies and procedures with all staff
  • Review performance data to measure productivity and goal achievement and to determine areas needing improvement
  • Speaks directly with clients when needed to ensure needs are met and contract is adhered to
  • Submit documented hours to the Vice President at the end of each shift or period
  • Submit shift notes and/or summary of shift notes weekly to Vice President
  • Train and/or assist in training team members, shift leads, supervisors and new hires
  • Willingness to grow with AMB and adapt to change quickly as company grows
  • Supervise team of janitorial workers
  • Resolve escalated customer complaints 


·         Able to work 38-42 hours weekly with at least 80% in the field (10-20 percent in office)

·         Associates Degree preferred or 2 years management experience

·         Effective verbal and written communication skills

·         Experience training on cleaning techniques

·         Familiarity with Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel

·         Lift equivalent of 35lbs repeatedly
