Are you passionate about supporting older people and making a difference within the criminal justice system? We're recruiting for a dedicated Older Prisoner Co-ordinator to join a meaningful and rewarding service based at a well-established prison in the East Midlands.

This role is perfect for someone who enjoys working directly with individuals who may have complex needs, and who wants to play a vital role in improving wellbeing, promoting dignity, and supporting resettlement.

The Role

You will coordinate purposeful activity and support for older male prisoners, ensuring their needs are met with compassion and professionalism. You'll work alongside prison staff, healthcare teams, and third-party agencies to deliver a joined-up approach to care and rehabilitation.

Key duties include:

  • Planning and delivering wellbeing activities and support programmes

  • Working closely with internal departments and external partners

  • Promoting health, dignity, and positive ageing within the prison

  • Keeping accurate records and reporting on service outcomes

  • Contributing to service development and safeguarding best practice

About You

We're looking for someone who is:

  • A confident communicator and relationship builder

  • Experienced in working with older people, or within the criminal justice, health, or social care sectors

  • Organised, empathetic, and motivated by positive outcomes

  • Comfortable with lone working and managing a busy workload

  • IT literate and confident maintaining records and reports

  • Must be a driver with access to your own car due to the location of the role

Desirable Experience:
  • Working in a prison or secure setting

  • Supporting vulnerable or marginalised groups

  • Knowledge of safeguarding, offender support services, or voluntary sector work

Why Apply?

This is a unique opportunity to make a real impact in the lives of older individuals in prison - providing meaningful engagement, support, and hope. You'll join a values-led organisation committed to dignity, inclusion, and positive change.
