Commercial Analyst

• Job Type: Contract (6 months)
• Location:  Farnborough (with parking) / Hybrid
• Salary: 35k to 45k per annum (with some flexible hours)

My client is seeking an immediately available Commercial Analyst to join their team on an initial 6-month contract basis. This role involves working closely with the finance, sales, and the operations teams to create a comprehensive cost library and conduct various financial analyses to support business decisions.

Day-to-day of the role:

• Create a cost library by drawing data from various systems and spreadsheets into a single, user-friendly spreadsheet format for business-wide use.
• Conduct variance analysis comparing actual results to forecasts and budgets.
• Build commercial revenue forecasts to aid strategic planning and decision-making.
• Support the annual product budget process, ensuring financial efficiency and accuracy.
• Analyse pricing effectiveness by comparing their market position to competitors.
• Calculate variable costs per hour to optimise operational efficiency.
• Compare revenue versus operating costs to assess profitability.
• Perform financial modelling for the onboarding of new products, projecting future financial impacts and opportunities.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Proven experience in a commercial analyst role or similar.
• Strong proficiency in financial modelling and analysis.
• Excellent skills in Excel and other financial software tools (power BI advantageous).
• Ability to draw insights from complex data sets and present findings clearly.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work effectively in a team and communicate financial concepts to non-financial colleagues.
