Digital Account Director

This is a brilliant opportunity to join a heavy hitting, world class full service digital delivery agency. We are looking for a commercial and client focused Digital Account Director who has experience of large scale web applications, digital transformation and the delivery of digital programmes for some very large clients.

The Account Director is the key day-to-day contact across a range of high level senior clients, ensuring programmes of work are being scoped, defined and taken forward. You will ensure that client needs are being met and that excellent service is being provided, as well as commercial opportunities being optimised.

This is not a project management role (although you will work hand in hand with the project management team) but it is important that you are technically aware to be able to communicate with clients at a senior level.

You will take the lead in responding to client requirements, delivering clear and accurate proposals and statements of work which are costed to deliver profit. You need to be able to confidently “sell in” solutions and ideas to the appropriate personnel and will always have a keen eye on margins and profit.

Client Relationship Management

Be the main day to day contact and decision maker on account issues
Take the lead in anticipating and understanding client needs and translating into meaningful briefs that enables strong products and services to be created
Understand client success criteria and objectives and become knowledgeable in your clients’ business issues
Create rapport and trust with clients and proactively suggest new ideas
Regularly monitor client satisfaction levels responding to feedback in a timely manner
Provide an escalation point for any client or internal issues
Support the wider account management team
Maintain regular and proactive communications and organisation of meetings including regular monthly catch ups and strategic reviews
Influence clients in best practice digital advice and recommended Storm solutions

Managing Delivery

Scoping and definition of work packages and projects and identifying and anticipating any potential issues or risks
Overseeing and checking outputs in terms of quality and in meeting client needs
Maintain understanding of the range of technologies and digital marketing channels that we work with and their respective advantages or limitations
Manage change requests, working with the client on any necessary budgetary implications
Oversee transition into support ensuring client understands contract, process and financial implications

Commercial Management

Develop and communicate commercial propositions for development of new digital services to help convert new opportunities
Owning and managing billing across designated accounts
Increasing year on year revenue and profitability
Establishing appropriate budgets for work packages and projects that maximise the commercial opportunities and that any future or ongoing costs (e.g. support, fonts, SSL certificates) are captured
Ensuring that all client contracts, POs and payment plans are in place and all charging across project and support work is captured and billed accurately
Develop proactive ideas and suggestions to assist in client satisfaction and account growth
Assist and lead on new business pitches and tenders


Maintain accurate financial forecasting for your accounts and knowledge of financial status
Maintain up to date status on account outstanding actions and proposals
Produce timely contact reports detailing all actions from meetings with clients
Monitor clients’ analytics and use this to help with new suggestions or brief responses
Ensure all client documentation is properly maintained for easy access as needed

This is not a digital marketing role, although obviously knowledge of SEO/PPC etc would be an advantage (and how it all ties in).
Our client is looking for a heavy hitter, a mature and credible senior member of the client services team who can help develop the department.
Salary c£50,000 + great benefits.
