Swim Manager | CardiffPermanent, Full TimeSalary £35,000 We are seeking an experienced, enthusiastic, and highly motivated Swim Manager to lead our aquatics team. You will be responsible for the successful operation and development of our swimming programme, ensuring the highest standards of safety, quality, and customer service.
Primary objectives and responsibilities for the Swim Manager are Commercial Growth and Performance- Strategy & Sales Develop and implement a plan to drive income, growth, and retention within the Learn to Swim program. Actively manage sales targets, provide clear communication to sales teams, and continually review net gain as a primary metric for commercial success.
- Performance Monitoring Utilise Key Performance Indicators KPIs to analyse and improve the commercial performance of the site's pool program.
- Marketing & Outreach Create and execute a monthly marketing plan, including in reach, outreach, and social media activities. Use positive stories and content opportunities to promote the program, and be ready to implement campaigns to increase sales.
- Customer Experience Implement a strong focus on customer satisfaction through post-booking calls and by training staff on the program's unique selling points (USP): Safer, Smarter, Stronger.
Program Management and Quality- Programme Delivery Oversee the swim program, ensuring high quality is driven by customer feedback, best practice, and data from internal systems.
- Timetabling Maximise pool space and timetabling efficiency to offer convenient entry points and boost customer retention.
- Compliance Ensure the program remains current, adheres to all company processes and procedures, and meets company branding requirements.
- Industry Knowledge Maintain a comprehensive knowledge of the aquatic industry and commit to personal development.
- Community Engagement Forge positive working relationships with the wider community, including schools, local swim clubs, and other aquatic sports.
Leadership, Observation, and Mentoring- Team Management Provide direct line management to the team of swim teachers, including overseeing scheduling to ensure full shift coverage.
- Recruitment & Training Lead the interview, induction, and training process for new swim teachers. Develop an action plan for ongoing training to support program growth.
- Quality Assurance Regularly observe the programme on the poolside to ensure quality of delivery, provide feedback, and confirm that staff are teaching the internal schemes of work with the Safer, Smarter, Stronger outcomes.
- Compliance Ensure all staff qualifications like NRASTC are current and that training records, including safeguarding and GDPR are maintained.
- Collaboration Work with the Head of Aquatics as an indirect report to achieve commercial targets and implement departmental strategies.
The Candidate: Qualifications and SkillsEssential Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years of previous experience managing a team.
- Proven experience in developing a commercial focus.
Desirable Skills:- Knowledge of Learn to Swim programs and the National Governing Bodies Learn To Swim Framework e.g., Swim Wales.
- A fully qualified IOS Level 2 Swimming Teacher or equivalent.
- Ability to speak Welsh desirable, but not essential.
