Part Time Teaching Assistant - Severn Beach (BS35)

An extremely well-respected primary school in South Gloucestershire are currently recruiting for a teaching assistant to promote and support classroom learning for SEN pupils in Foundation Stage, Key Stage 1 or Key Stage 2. This is an exciting opportunity for aspiring teachers to initiate their career in education and to gain an understanding of the National Curriculum. This is a rewarding and important position where no two days are the same!

Mainstream Primary School
£13.85 per hour, including holiday pay
21 hours per week, 39 weeks per year (term time only + Inset days)
Tuesday- Friday, 9am-2.45pm
Ongoing role, subject to continued funding and child remaining in the schoolDuties of the Teaching Assistant role

Working with individual learners with EHCP in the classroom on a 1:1 basis
Supporting children's behaviour for learning in the classroom.
Helping children with their understanding of the teacher's instructions.
Keeping track and recording pupil progress.What we need from you

Maths and English GCSE grade A*-C / 9-4 or equivalent
Experience working with SEN children - for example youth work, support work, mental health work or SEN in sport
Confident to converse with parents, students and members of the public
