About the Company

Our client is a leading contractor specialising in new build steel frame construction across commercial, industrial, and mixed-use developments. Known for delivering complex, high-specification projects, they are seeking an experienced Site Engineer to support delivery on a major upcoming scheme.

Role Overview

The Senior Site Engineer will be responsible for supporting site operations with a focus on groundworks and structural steel frame setting out. This is a hands-on, technical role requiring a high level of accuracy, proactive coordination, and communication with subcontractors and project stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Perform precise setting out for groundworks, foundations, and steel frame installations

*

Interpret and work from engineering drawings, site plans, and specifications

*

Support site management in supervising subcontractors to ensure works are delivered to the required standards and tolerances

*

Maintain accurate records, including as-built surveys and site documentation

*

Ensure dimensional control and conduct regular site measurements

*

Assist in ensuring health and safety compliance across the site

*

Provide technical input into method statements and risk assessments

*

Collaborate with the Site Manager and Project Manager to meet programme deadlines

*

Raise and resolve technical queries in coordination with the design and engineering teams

Requirements

*

Proven experience in a similar role within steel frame and groundwork environments

*

Skilled in using setting out instruments including total stations, GPS, and laser levels

*

Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and technical specifications

*

Strong understanding of health and safety practices on site

*

Excellent communication and coordination skills

*

Ability to work independently and as part of a wider team

*

Relevant qualification in civil engineering or construction (HNC/HND/Degree preferred)

*

Valid CSCS card

*

Experience with CAT & Genny and issuing permits to break ground is desirable
