Support Worker – Supported Living (16–18) | Bournemouth | Temp to Perm

We are currently recruiting for Support Workers to join a welcoming supported living setting in Bournemouth. This is a full-time, temp-to-perm opportunity, ideal for individuals who are passionate about supporting young people as they develop independence and life skills.

About the Setting:

  • Supported living provision for young people aged 16–18
  • All residents are relatively independent – no personal care required
  • Supporting young people with additional needs, including Autism and ADHD
  • A positive and encouraging environment focused on preparing young people for adult life

The Role:As a Support Worker, you will play a key role in helping young people build confidence and independence. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting with daily living skills such as cooking, shopping, and maintaining a home
  • Encouraging independence and decision-making
  • Accompanying young people to activities and appointments
  • Supporting with job applications, CV writing, and preparing for employment
  • Adapting your support depending on individual needs – some young people require minimal input, while others need more consistent guidance

Start date: ASAP

Working Hours:

  • 2 x 24-hour shifts per week
  • Shifts run from 9:00am – 9:00am
    • Working hours: 9:00am – 11:00pm
    • Sleep-in: 11:00pm – 7:00am (may be interrupted if support is needed – paid accordingly)
    • Morning shift: 7:00am – 9:00am
  • Flexibility to agree set shifts or work on a rolling rota

What We’re Looking For:

  • Minimum 6 months’ experience working with children or young people (any setting)
  • No prior SEN experience required
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding and professional boundaries
  • Ability to build positive, trusting relationships with young people
  • Reliable, committed, and able to work the shift pattern outlined
  • Someone looking for a long-term, permanent opportunity
