RG Consultancy are working with a well-established SME who are seeking an experienced Accounts Assistant to join their busy head office in Stockport. This is a varied, full-time role newly created to assist the Finance Manager on a day to day basis.

Key Responsibilities
- Process daily financial transactions, including invoices, payments, and receipts
- Accounts payable and accounts receivable functions
- Reconcile bank statements and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
- Maintain accurate financial records and update accounting systems
- Support month-end and year-end closing processes
- Prepare and process supplier payments and staff expense claims
- Communicate with clients and suppliers to handle queries and payment issues
- Monitor outstanding invoices and followed up on overdue payments
- Ensured compliance with company policies and financial regulations
- Provided administrative support to the finance team as required
Person Specification
- 5 years + experience working within an accounts or similar role
- AAT qualified or studying towards would be an advantage
- Strong IT and accountancy package experience, SAGE would be an advantage along with strong MS Excel skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines
- Able to work on own initiative while also contributing effectively as part of a team
