Requirement: Appointed Person in Lifting Operations

Location: South Wales and Southwest

Package: £60k - £75k + Bens

We are seeking an experienced CPCS A61 Appointed Person to plan, manage, and supervise lifting operations on National Grid projects, primarily within live substation environments.

The role involves producing and approving lifting plans, RAMS, and lift calculations, selecting suitable cranes and equipment, coordinating lift teams, and ensuring full compliance with National Grid procedures, LOLER 1998, BS 7121, and Permit to Work systems. Experience managing complex and high-risk lifts near live electrical apparatus is essential.

Requirements:

Valid CPCS A61 certification

Proven experience in safety-critical lifting operations

Competence in AutoCAD lifting plans and lift calculations

Strong knowledge of crane operations, safety margins, and restricted environments

IT literate (Microsoft Office & SharePoint)

Desirable:

National Grid / DNO experience

CSCS or EUSR (BESC / Persons)

Knowledge of NG standards (SR163, GS6)

SMSTS, First Aid at Work
