W Talent are working in partnership with a well-established manufacturing business based in Swadlincote, who are looking to recruit a Production Supervisor to support continued growth and operational efficiency. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced, hands-on leader to join a forward-thinking company in a key role overseeing day-to-day production activities.

Key Responsibilities:

Reporting into the Operations Manager as the Production Supervisor you will manage a small team of production operatives across the manufacturing facility based in Swadlincote, Derbyshire. This position will be responsible for driving continuous initiatives using lean manufacturing principles to optimise efficiency.

  • Supervise a medium-sized team (approx. 14 operatives), ensuring daily targets, safety, and quality standards are met.
  • Manage team performance including attendance, absence, and any disciplinary or investigatory matters.
  • Plan and allocate daily labour effectively to maximise machine utilisation and output.
  • Create and maintain efficient production schedules and sequencing to meet operational demands.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot general production machinery, supporting fault diagnosis and resolution.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives using lean manufacturing principles to optimise efficiency.
  • Maintain clear and effective communication across teams and shifts, ensuring a collaborative working environment.

Key Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a supervisory role within a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Strong knowledge of labour planning and resource allocation.
  • Experience in production planning and workflow management.
