Do have some experience working in a purchasing environment? A great opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Buyer/Purchasing Assistant to join a global mining company based in North Yorkshire. The role offers an attractive salary & some excellent benefits such as BUPA healthcare, a generous pension scheme and 33 days holidays including bank holidays. This is a full-time permanent position working in a busy, fast-paced environment and is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working in purchasing & wants to progress their career in this area.

The successful Assistant Buyer/Purchasing Assistant will be responsible for:

Managing trackers and spreadsheets for procurement
Liaising with suppliers and maintaining relationships with them
Chasing delivery notes and delivery dates
Expediting orders
Raising and managing purchase orders
Providing administrative support

The ideal Purchasing Assistant will have previous relevant experience of working in a procurement role ideally within a construction, engineering or manufacturing environment You must be familiar with liaising with suppliers and and have excellent IT skills, in particular Excel. The role would suit someone who is familiar with working in a fast-paced environment and who would like the opportunity to work towards CIPS qualifications. You will be working alongside the exiting Buyer & Senior Buyer and will spend the majority of your time at the Scarborough office & 1-2 days a week at the Whitby site

This Assistant Buyer role offers a salary £23,000 - £25,000 and the working hours are 40 hours per work (Monday to Friday) and is commutable from Scarborough, Whitby, Pickering, Malton & surrounding areas.
