S&D Trade Recruitment is supporting our client, who works on high-profile projects within the Marine, Themed Attractions, and High-End Fit-Out sectors We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative Design Architect to join our client's dynamic team based at there Head Office in Portadown. This is an exciting opportunity for a talented individual with a passion for marine design to contribute to the development of world-class vessels, ship interiors, and maritime facilities. You will be responsible for creating functional, safe, and aesthetically pleasing design concepts, balancing operational requirements, safety regulations, and technical specifications. The role is specifically focused on marine-related design, allowing you to play a pivotal role in developing cutting-edge designs for vessels and maritime environments. If you have a passion for marine design and a drive for innovation, this is the perfect opportunity for you. The position offers working hours of Monday to Thursday, 08:30 - 17:00, and Friday, 08:30 - 14:30. The role offers a competitive salary of £45,000 - £55,000 per annum, depending on experience. Driving licence is required as there will be travel occasionally for site visits, client meetings, or vessel inspections.

Design Architect Key Responsibilities:

* Develop creative design concepts for marine vessels, ensuring a perfect blend of safety, functionality, and aesthetics.

* Ensure designs comply with marine industry standards, including safety regulations and classification society requirements (e.g., SOLAS, IMO, ABS).

* Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including naval architects, engineers, and clients, to align design goals with technical specifications.

* Produce high-quality design visuals, including 2D/3D renderings, models, and presentations.

* Contribute to optimising interior layouts, focusing on efficient use of space and ergonomic considerations for both operational and passenger areas.

* Coordinate with construction teams to ensure the seamless execution of design concepts during the build phase.

* Select marine-grade materials, finishes, and furnishings that meet both functional and aesthetic criteria for harsh environments.

* Participate in client meetings and presentations, revising designs based on client feedback to meet project goals.

* Incorporate sustainability and energy efficiency into designs, including the use of lightweight materials and eco-friendly systems.

Design Architect Requirements:

* Must have Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture, Interior Architecture, or a related field.

* Previous experience in marine design, yacht architecture, or similar maritime projects is highly desirable.

* Hold driving licence with own vehicle.

* Required is a proficiency in design and modelling software such as Rhino, AutoCAD, Revit, SolidWorks, and Adobe Creative Suite.

* Familiarity with marine industry safety standards and regulations (e.g., SOLAS, IMO, ABS) is beneficial.

* Excellent conceptual, spatial, and visualisation skills.

* Strong communication and collaboration abilities, with the capacity to work closely with diverse teams and clients.

* Willingness to travel occasionally for site visits, client meetings, or vessel inspections is required. Face-to-face communication experience is essential for this role.
