What to Expect in the Role
As a Metal Fabricator/Welder, your day-to-day tasks will involve working with stainless steel and other metals to produce precision components and assemblies. Responsibilities include:
- Fabricating and assembling metal parts using hand and power tools
- Performing welding tasks (mostly MIG with a bit of TIG / STICK) to secure components
- Reading and interpreting technical drawings and blueprints
- Measuring, cutting, and shaping materials accurately using basic maths
- Conducting quality checks on completed work
- Maintaining a clean and safe workspace in line with health and safety practices
- Collaborating with colleagues to improve production methods and efficiency
What We Need from You
The ideal candidate will bring a mix of hands-on skills and a good attitude. You'll need:
- Experience in metal fabrication and welding (sheet metal experience is a plus)
- Strong MIG / TIG / STICK welding skills and confidence using fabrication tools
- Mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot issues and work efficiently
- The ability to read and understand technical drawings
- A high level of attention to detail and pride in your work
- A proactive and team-oriented approach
- Welding certification is desirable but not essential - a willingness to learn is key
