We are currently recruiting Kitchen Porters to join a busy aviation catering operation based in Gatwick.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone who can work well in a fast-paced environment and is happy to support different areas of the kitchen operation on a daily basis.
Role OverviewAs a Kitchen Porter, you will work across Dishwash, Production, and Pick & Pack areas, supporting daily catering operations and helping ensure airline catering standards and production schedules are met.
Shift Pattern4 on / 2 off rolling roster
8.5-hour shifts
Early shift start time: 6:00 AM
Late shift start time: 10:00 AM / 11:00 AM

Key Responsibilities (All Areas)Rotating stock to maximise shelf life
Recording and reporting food wastage
Recording and reporting breakages (china, glass, equipment)
Supporting teams to ensure production schedules are met
Dishwash DutiesDisposing of waste using the appropriate equipment
Loading catering equipment into wash machines as per training
Ensuring wash machines are running at correct temperatures
Checking equipment for cleanliness and damage after washing
Production DutiesEnsuring all airline products meet required specifications
Supplying products to relevant departments in an organised manner
Packing production trolleys and carts ready for dispatch
Following hygiene and safety standards
Pick & Pack DutiesChecking all products prior to packing
Packing carts to the required standard based on passenger numbers
Carrying out final search and screening checks
Knowledge & SkillsCatering experience preferred (minimum 1 year desirable, not essential)
Good communication and teamwork skills
Comfortable working in a busy and changing environment
Good spoken and written English
