A growing manufacturing business based in Altrincham are seeking a Management Accountant to join their finance team. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded accountant who is looking to step into a broad role with genuine progression to Finance Manager.

Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will play a key role in supporting the finance function. This position will suit someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and is keen to develop their leadership and business partnering skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts with supporting analysis and commentary
• Assist with the month-end close process, including journals, accruals, and prepayments
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations and investigate any variances
• Support the preparation of budgets and forecasts
• Analyse manufacturing costs, margins, and operational performance
• Produce financial reports to support decision-making across the business
• Assist with VAT returns and statutory reporting requirements
• Partner with operational teams to improve financial understanding and performance
• Support the Finance Manager with continuous improvements to financial processes and controls

About You

• Part-qualified or qualified accountant (ACCA / CIMA / ACA)
• Experience in a manufacturing or product-based environment is advantageous
• Strong Excel and analytical skills
• Confident communicator with the ability to work cross-functionally
• Ambitious and keen to progress into a Finance Manager role in the future
